Electoral Commission Looking For 91,000 More Laikipia Voters

The electoral commission is out near you looking for over 91,000 Laikipia citizens to register them as voters.

  

It is through voting that citizens elect leaders of their choice. Bad leaders are elected into various offices when good citizens fail to vote.

  

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is now looking for 91,369 Laikipians who have reached the age of voting but are not registered yet.

  

The exercise, dubbed Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration, began on October 4th and will end on November 2nd, 2021.

  

The distribution of numbers based on the wards are as follows: Ol Moran (3,420), Rumuruti (4,097), Githiga (5,719), Marmanet (9,429), Igwamiti (15,087), Salama (3,374), Ngobit (6,205), Tigithi (6,301), Thingithu (6,310), Nanyuki (9,939), Umande (4,212), Sosian (6,958), Segera (4,199), Mukogodo West (2,069) and Mukogodo West (4,050).

  

The commission has deployed a total of 47 voter registration kits across the county to make it easier for the citizens to register.
