The program currently provides Business Development Services to 1,700 MSMEs who are supporting 20,000 jobs.

Training of 174 Business development officers in June and July on Enterprise Development Basics, Business Planning, Access to Finance, Marketing, Personal, Leadership skills Client Engagement Basics, Creating Industrial Economy and Development in Laikipia took place.

The department hosted the MSME luncheon with 500 MSMEs in attendance in September, 2021.

Hosted the Africa Industrialization Week 2021 with 54 exhibitors and 12 SAGAS. The National government chose Laikipia County for these celebrations because of the purposeful intentions put by the leaders to make Industrialization a reality.

The program also facilitated Butty box Ke attended the Dubai Expo 2020 for exposure to the global market. Laikipia Innovation and Enterprise Development Program has helped in certifying 154 products with KEBS and 16 products filled for utility model, Over 400 made in Laikipia products have found their way to the local and international market.

During the year, the Laikipia-made four-wheeler tuk-tuk received the official number plates. The Governor led in lobbying for the recognition of a worthy innovation to warrant the plates.

The Innovation Programme facilitated eight exhibitors to the Destination Laikipia Nyali Golf exhibition, made cash sales worth Kshs 246,340 and made new clientele in the Coast region like Pinnadrop and Angaza crafts currently supplying in the coast region. It also facilitated six exhibitors and five BDOs to East Africa Community Trade fair in Mwanza, Tanzania(made cash sales, networked, and made new clients across East Africa).

Also, the department concluded a common tax regime for CEREB. Common market, taxation, and raw materials in conjunction with the Ministry of EAC and funded 305 Laikipia Business to a tune of Kshs. 131, 140, 028.

More than six counties have come to Benchmark on Enterprise Development, the latest Nyamira County.

Believing in the Laikipia-made is a step towards realizing an industrialized county. The manufacturers in the county produce quality products that attract even international recognition.
