Laikipia's Chief Servant Commitment

  0

The 25 th day of August 2022 marked a milestone for the democracy of Laikipians as the first Governor of the county was sworn in for his second term.

Here are some of the promises the county boss said his administration will effect:

  • Be a servant of all notwithstanding the political inclinations. Politics can never be a raging fire that destroys the unity that we always yearn for.
  • Ensure no victimization or favour based on political allegiance.
  • Be a Governor for all Laikipians. I will equally serve those who did not support my bid as well as those who did.
  • Defend the constitution of the land.
  • Always serve with utmost dedication.
  • Defend the democratic rights of our people.
  • Always be available for the people of Laikipia.
  • Give his all in Laikipia service, thinking not of power, but of possibilities. Not of personal interest, but of the public good.
  • Sustainably increase agricultural productivity, income growth, and food, and nutrition security while creating agriculture and livestock-related jobs through value addition and agro-industries.
  • Provide at least 50,000 water tanks to households across the county. No Laikipian will walk for more than 3km in search of water both for domestic usage and livestock.
  • Establish a Laikipia North Water and Sewerage Company and Board.
  • Among others provide incentives for communities to adopt clean cooking technologies.
  • Operationalize the Enterprise Revolving Fund to enable our people to access affordable start-up capital and working capital for businesses that are excluded from formal financial systems.
  • Create a friendly business environment so that we promote entrepreneurship.
  • Rehabilitate, modernize and equip our TVETs with machinery and qualified instructors.
  • Give adequate prominence to ICT and automation by providing internet connectivity in constituency youth innovation centers.
  • Invest heavily in Sports and creativity. Talented youths will be identified and nurtured.
  • Establish, equip and ensure NHIF accreditation for Centers of Excellence(COE) in every ward which will be operating on 24-hour basis.
  • We are working out on the reintroduction of free ambulance and emergency services across the county.
  • In the first 100 days of my administration, KMTC Nanyuki campus will open doors to the first lot of medical students.
  • Increase the number of specialized healthcare workers on a permanent and pensionable basis.
  • Reinstate sacked doctors with immediate effect.
  • All religious gatherings conducted on public grounds will be exempted of any charges.
