The meeting convened by H.E. Governor Joshua Irungu at the County Hall, Nanyuki also attracted a delegate from Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency who promised to work with the administration to ensure Laikipians get access to the vital commodity.

We are going to fund some of the water projects in the county so that we avail water for wildlife, domestic and even agricultural purposes, said CEO Eng. Samuel Oruma.

Governor Irungu has reiterated his desire to see that the maximum number of kilometers any Laikipian can move in search of this vital commodity is three as promised in his manifesto.By bringing the stakeholders together, the Governor demonstrates that ground work has commenced to bring clean and adequate water closer to the people.

I made a promise to the people of Laikipia and I will not rest until I fulfill it, especially on availing water to the nearest spot. I bring a political goodwill by allowing all stakeholders to play their part for the benefit of the people of Laikipia. said Governor Irungu.

Deputy Governor Reuben Kamuri will head a taskforce that will work towards actualizing the water plan across the county.
