Governor Joshua Irungu Addresses Inaugural County Assembly Sitting

Laikipia Governor H.E Joshua Irungu has opened the third Laikipia county assembly. In his address, he shared the ambitious transformational agenda that his administration intends to undertake in making the county great. He noted that Laikipia county is a model within the region and across the country and hence, should be united, prosperous and the pride of all.
In his address, the governor said that he aspires to build a strong and dynamic county that provides opportunities for improving the well-being of all the people and embodies values of socio-economic justice. "As a government, we commit to making Laikipia county the land of opportunity for all, a county on the move towards achieving prosperity for all and determined to secure the future of its people."
The Governor also revisited his pre-election manifesto, which was accorded overwhelming support by the great people of Laikipia and which is built on 6 main pillars, which include:
Health care
Water and sanitation
Food security and wealth creation
Renewable energy, roads infrastructure and urban
development
Trade, industrialization, Enterprise and urban development
Youth & Employment
