Smooth Handover In Health

  1

Today the Outgoing County Executive Committee Member for Health Hon. Rose Maitai officially handed the office to the Incoming County Executive Committee Member Albert Wagura Taiti.

Some of the notable achievements of the second County administration in health was the expansion of the registration of households to NHIF, which at some point was nearly 70%. The other was the commencement of the journey to standardize and network health services through sample referral for laboratories and reverse referral of specialists from the hospitals to dispensaries and health centers through the clusters of the Laikipia Health Service.

The new administration will further improve on these to enhance retention of NHIF by improving the services provided at the County Referral Hospitals while retaining all the funds generated therein. There is already evidence of focus on the improvement of physical facilities, quality of service provided, specializations available, and supply of medicines. Further, a Centre of Excellence health facility is being established in each ward.

The new administration will develop Rumuruti Sub County Hospital to be a large Multi-Speciality, Super-Specialty Hospital.
