Enhancing Service Delivery In Agriculture.

The County Agriculture Sector Steering Committee (CASSCOM) with the support of the Agricultural Support Development Support Program (ASDSP) -Laikipia has convened the first meeting, with the new Agriculture CEC Mr. Denis Kasoo.
The role of the committee is oversight of all the Agricultural projects that are funded by National Government, County Government, development partners or by Non-Governmental Organizations.
The Committee will also ensure that there is efficiency and accountability of all the projects being implemented in the agricultural sector across the County.
It also deliberated on the achievements and plans of various projects in the County. ASDSP budget for the FY 2022/23 was also approved.
The CECM also shared his goal of ensuring that there is digitalization of extension services in Laikipia where a team from the Alliance For a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and Microsoft pledged to support the County is ensuring that this is actualized.
Combining efforts from the National Government, development partners and NGOs will help transform the Agriculture sector and in service delivery to reach small and marginal farm households in Laikipia, one of the promises made by H.E Governor Joshua Irungu EGH.
Present were: Ag.Chief Officer Crops and Irrigation Ms.Elizabeth Mwangi, Chief Officer Livestock,Veterinary and Fisheries Ms. Mary Gichuru, ASDSP Laikipia County Coordinator Mr.John Nyapola ,CEO LCDA Mr.James Mugambi, representatives from various projects the Finance and Trade departments, and other senior staff members.
