Putting Focus On Our Habitat Laikipia County

H.E Governor Joshua Irungu led a delegation of County Government of Laikipia officials to a Round Table meeting with the Habitat for Humanity CEO, Jonathan Reckford. The Habitat for Humanity boss is in Kenya to meet and interact with partners and stakeholders in the organizations scope of work.
Laikipia recently signed an MoU with the organization that will provide operation framework covering areas of mutual interest and collaboration. Of interest to the organization in Laikipia is Affordable Housing, Sustainable Water supply for domestic use and irrigation, Health and Education.
In addition to other completed projects across the county, Habitat for Humanity is undertaking a feasibility survey at Solio Villages, that seeks to draw up concept for providing water for household use and irrigation.
I take this opportunity to welcome all potential stakeholders to partner with Laikipia to ensure we achieve our goal of equipping 50,000 homesteads with modern roof water harvesting facilities, and provide each with a water tank and kitchen gardening implements, Said the Governor addressing the meeting.
The Laikipia delegate included Laikipia County Assembly Speaker Hon Lantano Nabaala, CECM Health Albert Taiti, CECM Agriculture Dennis Kasoo, Ag. CECM Education Stephen Kisorio, Chief Officer Water Abram Lemanishoe and Chief Officer Housing Ken Kibaara.
