Fighting Drugs, Substances Abuse Menace

        The County Government of Laikipia has taken strides in fighting abuse of drugs and other substances abuse in the county to ensure safety of the people.
Governor Joshua Irungu EGH together County Commissioner Joseph Kanyiri held a consultative meeting that involved other leaders at the county and national levels to address the shortcoming of the war against drugs.
As responsible leaders, we must proactively deal with Drug and substance abuse, which is dispiriting our ambitious young generation, Governor Irungu said.
Among the issues deliberated on in the meeting were; bar and liquor licensing, illegal sale of illicit brews and substances, and ways to economically empower the people in the county.
Other stakeholders present were, the County Secretary Konange Wahome, CECM Leah Njeri, Chief officer Peter Ndirangu, the County Administration team, Assistant County commissioners, Chiefs, the Sub-chief, Representatives of Nacada, KEBS, Kenya Poisons Board, Public Health officers, and planning officers.
