Commissioning Of Water Distribution System For Oljabet Town And Nyahururu Site Phase II

H.E. Governor Joshua Irungu EGH commissioned the water distribution systems project for Oljabet town and Site Phase II in Nyahururu.
This 20 million worth project is funded by the German government through the Water Sector Trust Fund (WSTF).
This water distribution system marks a step forward in our commitment to ensuring water access within 1 km for all Laikipians. It is, in deed, a testament to transform the lives of our people, the Governor said.
Nyahururu Water and Sanitation Company (NYAHUWASCO) is the organization implementing the project and has increased water distribution system by installing 400 (meter) pipeline connections, in Oljabet and Nyahururu Site Phase II.
The CECM Water, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change Ms. Leah Njeri noted that the augmentation water distribution system in Oljabet and Nyahururu Site Phase II has greatly reduced non-revenue water from 62% to 57%, within two months since the completion of the project.
Mr. Isaac Kega, Programs Manager at WSTF, stated that the cooperation will continue to advance the Laikipia-WSTF partnership, which will improve essential water infrastructure to help address the water and sanitation needs of the communities.
"The partnership between the WSTF and Laikipia showcases the power of collaboration in addressing pressing water and sanitation needs. We remain committed to enhancing infrastructure and fostering sustainable solutions for the communities we serve, Mr. Kega noted.
