LHS' Receives Major Boost From High Level County Government, WHO Kenya Office.

        The Laikipia Health Service (LHS) received a major boost from the second round of high-level meeting between the county government and the WHO Kenya office on Tuesday.
The high-level WHO delegation led by Country Director, Dr Abdourahm Diallo, met county government executive delegation led by H.E Governor Joshua Irungu, EGH at 10 Mt Kenya Road in Nanyuki.
This was the second high-level reciprocal meeting after a County Government of Laikipia delegation made the first visit with the WHO Kenya office in Nairobi on 20 June 2023.
The consultations centered on exploring areas of partnerships in scaling up and deepening health service delivery for the people of Laikipia.
Yesterdays meeting delved deeper into the health indicators for Laikipia against the predetermined global and national targets.
The deliberations focused on possible areas to boost outcomes across the entire spectrum of health, with a special focus on the preventative approach that has proven to be a more reliable pathway towards realization of healthier communities.
The WHO delegation gained a good understanding of the implementation of Primary Health Care Networks (PCNs) in all the three Laikipia Sub Counties.
Among specific areas of cooperation agreed upon in LHS strengthening include areas community health services, disease surveillance, immunization services, reproductive health, nutrition, combating non communicable conditions, TB, HIV/AIDS, AMR Surveillance through One Health Approach, and health promotion.
WHO delegation also delivered a consignment of cholera and pneumonia kits, as well as severe acute malnutrition supplements that will help the people in Laikipia County.

E Reuben Kamuri, CECM Health Mr. Albert Taiti, CECM Administration Ms. Purity Kendi, CECM Agriculture Mr. Dennis Kasoo, Chief Officers Dr. Timothy Panga (Health), MS. Jecinta Koree (Youth and sports), Mr. Abraham Lemanyishoe (Water), Mrs. Mary Gichuru (Livestock), among other county government officials.
