Health Soccer Launch: Pastor Dorcas, Governor Irungu, DG Kamuri , Officials And Team

        On May 17, 2024, HE. Governor Joshua Irungu, EGH hosted spouse of the Deputy President HE. Pastor Dorcas Gacahagua at County Headquarter Rumuruti.
Pastor Dorcas was kicking of three weeks training of the 32 teams carefully selected to participate in Laikipia Health Soccer tournament. The training includes, players, coaches and referees.
The objective of the training is meant to capacity build the teams and teams leaders on best practices of running a professional football tournament.
Speaking during the event, County Governor appreciated Pastor Dorcas for her fervent support of boy-child empowerment through her various empowerment programs across the country.
This tournament augments your passion for youth, and it will help all participants physically, economically, and emotionally given its holistic approach. Thank you so much for choosing Laikipia to premier this noble initiative, Governor Irungu said.
On her side, Pastor Dorcas said that when properly guided and empowered, most frustrated youth, can pull themselves from chuckles of desperation and have a meaningful productive life.
After this three-week training, the tournament shall start. I want our young people to compete with passion knowing that this can change your life. I wish the sport will help you appreciate that someone loves you and cares for you, so that you can keep on trying in life, the motherly leader, encouraged.
During the events held at African Inland Church Rumuruti, all 32 teams were provided with soccer kits and uniform.
The Health Soccer Tournaments is being led Reverend Bishop George Maina, Pastor Chrispinas Bakari and Rev Pastor Sam Njoroge. The tournament is being sponsored by Association of Pentecostal and Evangelical Churches (APEC) under the patronage of HE. Pastor Dorcas Gachagua.
The governor was accompanied by DG HE. Reuben Kamur, CS Mr. Koinange Wahome, CECM Kisorio Biwott, COs Mr. Mike Kemboi (Administration), Mr. Abraham Lemanyishoe (Water, Environment and Natural Resources), Mr. Mwangi Gichuki (Education), Ms. Jecinta Koree (Sports), among other senior officials.
