New Borehole For Githima Secondary School Sossian Ward

        On May 23, 2024, HE. Governor Joshua Irungu EGH commissioned a fully equipped and solar-powered borehole at Githima Secondary School in Sosian Ward. The drilling of this borehole was collaborative development project where County Government of Laikipia drilled the borehole while Bethel Network and Davis & Shirtliff equipped the facility.The water project will immensely benefit Githima secondary school who for long, have struggled to have enough and reliable water supply. Further, the project will provide safe and clean water to over 500 households in the immediate neighbourhood and other local schools.This water project, alongside others like distribution of 50, 000 water tanks of 3000 litres, together with dam construction and distilling, among others, are testament to my commitment to uplift and promote the dignity of Laikipia residents, especially women who mostly bear the burden of water fetching struggles, Governor Irungu said while commissioning the water project. Laikipia County Development Authority (LCDA) Chair Dr. Allan Mugambi expressed gratitude to Bethel Networks for their contributions to Laikipias development agenda affirming the authoritys commitment to partner with more institutions whose core interventions is uplifting lives of Laikipia residents.While addressing residents of Sossian during the water project commissioning, Bethel Networks CEO, Ms. Mary Ndungu, said;This initiative will address a critical need for clean water access and we shall continue as Bethel Networks to support and implementing sustainable solutions to water scarcity and food security. We will even go further, other than our major role of purifying borehole waters, we will also be drilling boreholes in a strategic holistic approach to our development interventions. The Governor was accompanied by DG HE. Reuben Kamiuri, CS Koinange Wahome, LCDA Chair Dr. Allan Mugambi, CECMs Leah Njeri, Mr. Stephen Kisorio, Purity Kendi, CEO LCDA James Mugambi, Cos Mary Gichuru, Abraham Lemanishoe, John Gichuki, Jecinta Koree, and other government officials.
