Allotment Letters: 741 Residents Of Likii Village In Nanyuki Benefits
 Updated on: Sep 06, 2024
In historical event, September 6, 2024, Governor Joshua Irungu EGH, handed over 741 allotment letters to residents of Likii Village, Nanyuki ward.
The Likii estate has for decades struggled with land documents impacting on their social-economic development owing to the emotiveness and insecurities that surrounds land ownership in urban centres.
This day therefore was not any other day to them, it meant they can comfortably sleep knowing the piece of land they are in has legal documents of ownership. It means in short while; they will be able to develop their land and build permanent structures. To them, it means economic freedom.
The next phase will be processing their title deeds and lease agreements after securing their land ownership.
The momentous event had been followed by a meeting at NLC offices on August 15, 2024; when NLC Commissioners, Mr Reginald Okumu, Hubbie Hussein and NLC CEO Kabale Tache handed over the allotment letters to Governor Irungu in company Martin Nabos, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Infrastructure, Lands, Public Works, and Urban Development.
Other settlement areas lined up to receive ownership documents after identification and verification is complete include Kandutura in Rumuruti, Kanyoni and Maina village in Nyahururu.
