Kenya Devolution Support Program (KDSP II) Launched In Laikipia

On September 5, 2024, Laikipia County hosted Principal Secretary of the State Department for Devolution, Ms. Teresiah Mbaika, CBS, in Nanyuki County offices.
The PS was welcomed by HE. Governor Joshua Irungu EGH in her mission - launching of second phase of the Kenya Devolution Support Program (KDSP II).
KDSP is a four-year program financed by the World Bank to support capacity building and technical assistance at the county level.
The program is fashioned to capacity-build county's governance structures and overall institutional strengthening in five key areas that include:
Public Financial Management, Planning and Monitoring and Evaluation, Human Resources and Performance Management, Devolution and Inter-Governmental Relations, and Civic Education and Public Participation.
During the event County Program Steering Committee was issued with appointment letters to ensure the program's implementation objectives are immediately operationalised.
