The Solio Water Project

The Solio Water Project co-funded by County Government of Laikipia and Water Sector Trust Fund - WSTF is progressing well and the journey towards taking water to our people in Solio has started.
The Project being implemented through the Nanyuki Water and Sewerage Company will have 31KM main pipeline, and more than 50km of reticulation network once the water gets to the villages. So far 6km on some of the toughest terrain inside the forest is excavated and pipe laying is ongoing while office buildings and storage tanks are also ongoing concurrently.
This is in fulfillment of Governor Ndiritu Muriithi's manifesto on access to clean water. The project is expected to be completed by December 2019 and will benefit 20,000 people, 7 primary schools, 2 secondary schools, 2 health centres and thousands of domestic livestock in Mathingira and Furaha Locations of Tigithi Ward in Laikipia East Sub-county.
