Scores Of Doctors Seek To Join Laikipia Health System

In the clearest vote of confidence in the Laikipia Health System, about 200 doctors have applied for employment by the county government.
The medics are seeking to join a dedicated team of doctors who have been working relentlessly to ensure smooth running of the hospitals after 61 doctors were dismissed for boycotting work.
The sheer number of the applicants seeking to join the team is also a show of faith in the County Governments leadership that is committed to bringing quality and affordable healthcare to all the citizens.
Nationally, Laikipia people live the longest nationally with the average life expectancy standing at 72 years. In addition, the county has the second lowest child mortality rate after its neighbor Nyeri.
The county rolled out a unique universal healthcare model driven by our dedicated staff and community health volunteers which has attracted a global interest. The county has been invited to discuss the model in two international conferences in Rwanda and Vietnam.
That more than 16 counties have come to Laikipia for benchmarking, speaks volumes about service delivery and performance culture developing in Laikipia.
