Nanyuki@100 In Baraka

The mention of Nanyuki@100 has been perceived to mean just the immediate town Centre, rather than the entire ward, Nanyuki Ward.
Whilst its true Nanyuki township during inception in 1920s was significantly small, the then vast land which was heavily utilized for agriculture has since been converted to estates - expanding the town.
It is clear, in the next century, in 2120, the town will have exponentially grown, expanded to even the neighbouring wards of Umande and Thingithu, into a vast metropolis.
Alive to this fact, County Department of Administration has been conducting these celebrations outside the town Centre, to the interiors and peripheries of Nanyuki, to enable Nanyukians appreciate and own their town.
This week, the County Executive Member in charge of Administration Rose Maitai took the celebrations to Ruai and Baraka estates, having visited Majengo, Kanyoni, Nturukuma and Nkado last week.
Its only then, the next century, Nanyukians shall have enough information about their towns history and journey to stardom - making a strong baseline from which the next century shall draw lessons.
