H.E Governor Nderitu led the Council of Governors as Chair of the Finance, Planning and Economic Affairs Committee to the Inter Governmental Budget Committee (IBEC) chaired by H.E. Deputy President William Ruto on discussions on the Division of Revenue (DORA).

In the detailed and engaging forum with all stakeholders, National Treasury, Commission of Revenue Allocation and other agencies both at the National and County Government levels, a consensus on the County allocation for the FY 2021/22 was reached.

Counties will receive an Equitable Share of Ksh. 370 Billion and an additional Ksh. 39.9 Billion in Conditional Grants, bringing the total allocation of FY 2021/22 to Ksh. 409.9 Billion.

Indeed we continue on our path of ensuring that counties continue to receive adequate funds to be able to meet their functions and obligations. Governor Nderitu

The borrowing framework for counties was also agreed on meaning that now counties can borrow for capital expenditure.

I posit that we must all collectively join hands to strengthen devolution. We have to make devolution work in a way that it delivers development outcomes and impact to our citizens and always by putting citizens at the heart of the decision making process.

We must always remain convinced that at every turn, that a good thing, can always be made better. Governor Nderitu
