Residents in Laikipia County are set to benefit from a partnership between the County Government and Equity Group Foundation.
A team of the County Government leadership led by H.E Governor Joshua Irungu EGH and Deputy Governor H.E Reuben Kamuri today met with the Foundation Group officials led by the CEO Dr. James Mwangi to discuss on various issues affecting the people of Laikipia. This will be done mainly through financial and technological innovations.
The key areas of collaboration discussed included providing affordable and high-quality healthcare, utilizing revolutionary alternative energy solutions to create wealth and conserving the environment through forest cover expansion.
Other areas of collaborations are; improving water security and renewable energy, expanding agricultural production to help create jobs and improve market access, providing education and leadership development through the Wings to Fly scholarship program and the Equity Leaders Program (ELP).
My administration will also work collaboratively with Equity Bank to provide Financial Access to SME and Rural Population in Agriculture Using Technology (FASRAT) to 60,000 farmers and 5000 SMEs over a three-year period, while promoting entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, said Governor Irungu during the meeting.
