County Improving Working Conditions Of Shoe Shiners

County Government of Laikipia through Department of Trade, Tourism and Co-operative Development is setting up shoe shine shades in specific locations in Nanyuki, Nyahururu, and Rumuruti town.
The project will offer much needed decent and favorable environment for shoe shiners to perform their work. For the longest time, they have been operating under scorching sun and usually close their businesses during rainy season. The shades will enable them operate in an organized manner and during all weather conditions.
In Nanyuki, two shades are being erected opposite Emess hotel with one more expected to be set up at Nanyuki main stage. In Nyahururu town, two shades will be set up with Rumururti town also getting two shades. Each shade will accommodate four shoe shiners.
