Umande Ward: 873 Students Benefit From County Bursary Kitty

On the third day of the countywide bursary disbursement exercise, today, the disbursement team was in Umande Ward where cheques totalling Ksh. 4,039,700 million was issued to 873 students.
The exercise was led by Chief Officer in charge of Trade Mr. Samuel Njuki and Umande ward MCA Hon. Daniel Mugweru at Mwereri, chief's compound.
Students from different categories received their bursary cheques as follows:
Students in boarding schools were 202
Students in day-schools - 398
Students in tertiary levels - 147
Students in Special Schools - 10
Students in students in TVETs - 8
Students under County Scholarship were three (3)
Form 1 students - 105
Speaking during the bursary event, Hon. Daniel Mugweru, the area MCA, stressed that nearly 90 percent of applicants qualified for bursary funding, which prioritized students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
In his remarks, Mr. Samuel Njuki, CO Trade, reiterated the county government's unwavering commitment to ensuring equitable access to quality education for all, highlighting initiatives such as bursary allocations as catalysts for societal transformation.
The event also saw the presence of Mr. Burje Mohammed, CO Economic Planning and County Development, alongside other Bursary Committee Members from Umande Ward.
